I am starting to teach my kids how to write code. We are using Python and going slow and steady. Below is the process we have followed to date. I’ll keep this section updated as we move along. I’m learning as we go too. While I can write code and help others write code as a day job I won’t classify myself as a great teacher. I’ll make notes along the way of what I did that I wish I didn’t do and what I didn’t do that I wish I did.
We’ve had a few lessons so far. You can see the outline of those below. It is going alright. I take for granted the things about code and programming and software that I know so it is often difficult for me to teach it to those that don’t know those things. This is a good experience for me too.
